Project Los Altos
Extensive Remodel and Master Suite Addition
Los Altos Hills, California

The Los Altos Hills home is a reinvention of an old 1959 two-level house set on the hillside with 180-degree views of the bay and Silicon valley below.

The goal of this project was to create a calm retreat with a serene atmosphere and streamline interiors to make them more functional and spacious to accommodate a family of four.

The original house was not updated or renovated and appeared outdated with dark wood interiors. Despite its desirable location, it needed a complete transformation.

We reconfigured the house layout, opened interior walls, and exposed kitchen space to the family room. We relocated the entry room and made better use of the existing driveway and house approach. We also created a grand stair foyer and added a new master suite with a large walk-through closet that connects the newly designed master suite to existing. The lower level completed and now has a large entertainment area and professional gym.

The unique and modern materials used include wide plank American oak flooring and Venetian finish.

We designed a new custom-designed kitchen done with an extensive professional hood and a new opening and including a fireplace. Play in floor levels allowed us to have bar seating outside the kitchen.

Other general & unique style project characteristics were to offer a clean, modern design, warm, inviting spaces with natural materials.
